The island really does have so much to offer - nature, amazing beaches and countryside,... read more beautiful wildlife, the most incredibly interesting historical and religious sites, wonderful food, good choice of accommodation to suit all budgets... I could go on and on! Undoubtedly the best way to see the country is to hire a guide and/or driver - it's the fastest way to cover a lot of ground and see all the sites but more importantly, it's how you are most likely to gain a true insight into the Sri Lankan way of life and the lovely Sinhalese people! I spent much of my time with our guide from Lankan Getaways. Love and appreciate their hospitality and service . Together with Chaminda, fantastic driver, we travelled around much of the country and had so many good times on the way. Although we also used trains and buses a fair amount of time too (as they are quite an experience, super cheap, and not to be missed!). One of the most memorable evenings was in a little hut on a beach in the south, sharing a huge barbecued fish, drinking, making music and singing with a bunch of fishermen who were about to head off to sea for 3 months! The country really does deserve a flourishing tourist industry and the people work hard to ensure tourists of all kinds will have a good time. I went over there on my own, but came back with fantastic memories and a couple of friends for life!   water falls trek with niro - we had very spacual day with niro, he took us to the waterfalls trek. one of the best days in our trip in this beutifull country!!!!

  We went for a 5 hours trek to a water fall. First down the rice fields, and then through spices gardens where our marvellous guide teach us how recognize them.... read more /> Then, we hydrated with a king coconut and hate a healthy lunch. We can even say that we walked into the jungle to arrive at water fall. What a spectacular nature through the tea fields !
This was a marvellous and diverse trek thanks to very attentive guide.

  Just few days ago we came back from great holiday in Sri Lanka. Of course we were looking forward to our holiday but I think that none of us expected... read more that 13 days in Sri Lanka will be so nice.

We were to Sri Lanka with my wife and parents and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. We spent 10 days with travelling around the country and had 3 days of rest in the south cost. Before heading to Sri Lanka , we made an intinerary and started looking for a travel agency and Sri Lankan Getaways was a perfectl choice ! We enjoyed our trip to Kandy , Dambulla , sigriya and Anuradhapura!
In south coast we enjoyed the beautiful coconut tree hill and enjoyed some whale watching at Mirrissa . What a bliss !!
It was a cultural tour and some fun with air baloon at Dambulla ! The trip couldn’t have been better ! Looking forward to visiting again !
I think two weeks is just the minimum to get to know the country a little bit. But we know we want to come again in the future - Sri Lanka has fantastic nature, lot of places to see and people are friendly and nice here. It is really worth visiting.
